Every Zignature signature meets the ESIGN Act's legal requirements and produces a Certificate of Completion documenting signer identity, IP address, timestamp, geolocation, and document hash. The certificate is cryptographically sealed — any post-signing alteration is immediately detectable in any court proceeding.
Build reusable templates for your most common documents — retainer agreements, contingency fee agreements, NDA templates, settlement release agreements, and more. AI auto-populates client information from your case management system, reducing document prep from hours to minutes.
Your client receives a branded email with their document and signs in under 2 minutes from their phone, tablet, or computer — no account required. Automatic reminders chase signers so you don't have to. Real-time notifications tell you the moment a client opens, views, or signs.

Everything you need to know.
Yes. Under the federal ESIGN Act and UETA, electronic signatures have the same legal force as handwritten signatures for the vast majority of legal documents including retainer agreements, NDAs, settlement agreements, fee disclosures, and most contracts. Documents requiring notarization or specific witnessing requirements are exceptions and must still follow those formalities.
Yes. The Zignature Certificate of Completion contains signer name, email, IP address, timestamp, geolocation, device information, and a SHA-256 hash of the signed document. This evidence trail satisfies the authentication requirements under Federal Rule of Evidence 901 and is accepted by courts across the United States.
Yes. Zignature supports sequential and parallel multi-party signing. For settlement agreements involving plaintiff, defendant, and insurer, you can configure the signing order and each party receives the document only after the previous signer has completed their portion.
Zignature connects to Clio, MyCase, PracticePanther, and other legal practice management tools via REST API and Zapier. You can automatically trigger document sends from matter stage changes and write signed status back to the matter record.
Zignature prepares documents for signing but is not itself a court e-filing service. You would sign the document in Zignature, then upload the signed PDF to your jurisdiction's e-filing system (PACER, Tyler Technologies EFM, etc.). The signed Zignature PDF is accepted by all major court e-filing platforms.
An electronic signature is the signer's legally recognized consent to a document's terms. Notarization is a separate process involving a notary public who verifies the signer's identity. For documents requiring notarization, you need Remote Online Notarization (RON) in addition to an e-signature. Zignature integrates with RON providers for this workflow.
Yes. Through the eIDEasy integration, Zignature supports Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) under eIDAS — the EU's highest legal standard for electronic signatures. QES are legally equivalent to handwritten signatures in all EU member states.
All documents in Zignature are encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Role-based access controls ensure only authorized users in your firm can view each matter's documents. SOC 2 Type II certification documents our security controls for attorney-client privilege requirements.
